DHS – Cheerleader Fire Truck Shoot

Posted on: July 9th, 2009 by Jeremy No Comments

My friend has a 1953 GMC firetruck(thanks Casey for letting me know what year).  What a great truck to get pictures with.  The Delta High School cheerleaders had a photo shoot for the yearly calendar that the school produces.

They were very good sports to drive to Lynndyl and jump on the truck which was hot in some places.  They even helped push the truck into the shade when it wouldn’t start to get pictures of the girls on the back.

The DHS cheer page can be view by clicking here.  From this page you can go to the gallery to view and purchase prints.

The Twins (ballet photo shoot)

This past week I had the opportunity to take some photos of Jordanne and Justine.  They are twins on the University of Utah Ballet team.

We took a few shots in their studio, after which we went to take some pictures in a sky walk, but got kicked out by the security guard.  So we went to Memory Grove a little earlier than planned, but it turned out really good.  They were really fun to work with and very talented in what they do.

The Salt Flats photo shoot

Posted on: June 19th, 2009 by Jeremy No Comments

Last Saturday we went out with a small group of photographers and girls from the University of Utah’s ballet team.

We were really excited to get out to the salt flats, but as fate would have it, there was an accident on the freeway that basically turned I-80 into a parking lot.  It took us over 3 hours to go 5 miles, Ahhhh.  Well what are we to do while we sit in our car for that long with our cameras burning holes in our back packs…..  Yep, that’s right I-80 photo-shoot time. Thanks Joanne and Sarah for jumping out and letting us get our cameras rolling.

After the fun on I-80 we finally made it to the Salt Flats.  We made it in time to catch a few min of good sunlight.  It would have been a great day to shoot out on the salt flats because of all the rain, there was a quarter of an inch of water which works nicely to give a sweet reflection.  Hopefully next time we won’t get stopped on the freeway for so long….

Well Enjoy the pictures.

Cross Processing

Posted on: May 27th, 2009 by Jeremy 4 Comments

I have been playing around with a couple photos from Derek & Ash’s engagement shoot.  I have not had a lot of time to process this entire shoot yet, but here are a couple. The style is a cross processed photo, that would be equivalent to developing the film in the wrong liquids.

These also have an overlay which helps to give it the old look that I was shooting for.  Let me know what you think.

Engagements – Derek & Ash

Posted on: May 23rd, 2009 by Jeremy No Comments

My brother-in-law and his fiance are getting married in a couple of months and it was time to get their engagement pictures done.  I saw this location from another photography friend, and knew at once that it was perfect for Derek and Ash.

We had a lot of fun, we pulled up and there were deer grazing near the orchard, and some even walked through while we were doing our shoot.

I played around with a few pictures in photoshop by adding an overlay and a gradient in a couple of pictures which give it a really unique feel.

Enjoy..

Easter 2009

Posted on: May 2nd, 2009 by Jeremy No Comments

Easter this year was wet, cold, rainy but was also a blast. The weather did not stop the kids from doing the Easter egg hunt in the Lynndyl park. Here are a few pictures that were capture on this rainy day.

Afterward we took Mason and Shana up to my Grandpa’s farm. They loved it, well take a look at these pictures and see if you can tell just how much fun they had. Nothing like a couple of 2.5 year olds playing in the hay.

Baby Cows!!!

Posted on: May 2nd, 2009 by Jeremy No Comments

My Grandpa has a farm in Lynndyl, UT that Mason loves.  This trip was no exception.  There were new baby cows that were being fed on the bottle, so as a result were very friendly.  It was fun to get a few shots of him checking out these funny little cows and climbing in the pen with them.

Delta High School Track & Field Invitational

Posted on: April 7th, 2009 by Jeremy No Comments

This past weekend, Delta High School held their invitational track meet.  It was really cold and a lot of southern teams decided at the last minute to not come up north.  The athletes that did show up came ready to run in spite of the cold temperatures.

It was a lot of fun to be able to take photos of these athletes during the day.  I took nearly 2300 pictures of the meet.  Most of these were of the running events, I couldn’t find time to get to many of the field events.  There was just too much going on for one photographer.

All proceeds from the purchase of these prints will go to the Delta High School track team.  http://www.stowellphotography.com/dhstrack.

McKinley Blessing Day.

Posted on: March 2nd, 2009 by Jeremy No Comments

Coming this Sunday we are blessing McKinley and we are excited for this special day for her.  We got a few early shots to of her in her blessing dress.   She looks so pretty!

This was taken on a seamless black background with her laying on  a black furry fabric.  It is hard to see the fabric with the black background, but I’m sure we will use it in pictures in the future.
